The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit is made up of two components: The Metro Drug Enforcement Network Team (MDENT) and the Street Level Unit.

PUTNAM COUNTY DRUG UNIT

The Drug Task Force is composed of Federal, State, County and Municipal Officers. The mission of the Task Force is to identify and prosecute Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTOs) and assist Law Enforcement Agencies with violent crimes within the capacity of Putnam County.

Deputies assigned to the Metro Drug Enforcement Network Team have the mission of identifying and prosecuting lower level drug dealers in rural and municipal Putnam County. The Street Level Unit also assists the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation and prosecution of drug-related crimes. The ultimate goal of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit is to reduce drug-related crimes and make a safe environment for the citizens of Putnam County.
